HH113 ✋ Let's high-five in Budapest!
Hello, dear reader!
I'm glad you're here. I hope everything is going well for you!
The pace is a bit faster for me than what I'm comfortable with when observing the world, but we need to step out of our comfort zones if we want to grow.
Last weekend, for example, I managed to recharge myself. My family and friends traveled with me to Dalarna, a gem in the Swedish countryside, where I didn't even open my laptop. Instead, I had to look at these:
But this Sunday, I'm traveling to Budapest where many exciting things await. On Monday, I'll be having the second-to-last session with my own group, and on Wednesday the 31st, I'll be participating in Hungary's first podcast festival. The organizers invited me to give a presentation titled:
Who Should NOT Appear on Podcasts? "If we hear everyone's voice, then we hear no one's."
I want to make the audience think about whether everyone needs to create a podcast in this information overload. Is it necessary or possible to limit the freedom of self expression for podcast creators and guests? Is there a criterion that can help us determine who will create a good podcast? Is it necessary to regulate the quality and quantity of content in an attention-based economy? What impact does the infinite amount of information flowing towards us at an increasingly rapid pace have on our mental health? What is the solution?
In the June 7th episode of HAC, you'll be able to listen to the pre-recorded speech where I discuss these questions. But it would be great if you could be there at the event and we could meet in person!
On Thursday, it will be the first collaboration with a really cool company, and on Friday at 6 PM, I'll participate in a panel discussion at the Agencies' Night hosted by Publicis Groupe at their beautiful office on Irányi Street.
Topic: If you often find yourself thinking why you didn't become a baker or maybe open a specialty coffee shop instead, this roundtable discussion is for you. And about burnout.
Participants:
Zsófia Komáromi - Head of People & Culture, Publicis Groupe Hungary
Vilmos Farkas - Executive Creative Director, Publicis Groupe Hungary
András Bán - Coach, Employee Wellbeing Expert
Moderator: Kristóf Horváth, Mindminers Collective
Admission is free, so come if you feel like it, we can chat a bit afterward.
PODCAST
Have you heard the latest HAC episode about leadership selection? I present a revolutionary new method in the atmosphere of assessment centers, but in a completely different way.
The first season of my English-language show is also running. There will be a new episode every Monday until July, and after the summer break, I'll switch to a bi-weekly release for the sake of sustainability and regulating information overload.
If you have any foreign friends who might be interested in the relationship between mental health and the workplace in my interpretation, please show them the WOOHOO! burned out. podcast! Thanks.
TV/MUSIC
Unfortunately, I have no ear for music, but I love music and pop culture. The Apple TV infotainment series completely amazed me. Watch "Watch the Sound With Mark Ronson" if you're interested in how the best songs are made!
Thank you for your attention today. There won't be a newsletter next week because I'll be touring in Pest, as you know. However, there will be a great HAC podcast episode (109). My guest is a musician, producer, music teacher, a true artist - iamyank, whose genre-defying musical world spans from electronic to classical music, traveling through different realms.
We will discuss burnout, anxiety, accepting our mortality and inevitable passing as a liberating experience. How can we motivate ourselves in the midst of anxiety? What is needed for change? Why is self-expression important, and many other interesting topics in this episode.
Yank will share how creativity played a role in his recovery from burnout, and the result of that is his album titled "Láttam a jövőt meghalni" (I Saw the Future Die).
In the meantime, take care and say hi to me in Budapest if you see me!
Best regards,
András
