WW117 🛠️ work your ass off before vacation
Hello,
Thanks for reading this. Have you been thinking a lot about vacation and relaxation lately?
Do you already feel like you're running on empty and need to recharge and rest? But before that, you still have to take care of everything, work yourself to the bone in the weeks leading up to your time off, only to then worry about the amount of work waiting for you when you return for 1-2 weeks?
This is the reality for most workplaces. I'll have a podcast episode about this on July 19th, but until then, it's worth considering what you can do to prevent it from happening!
I'm already caught up in the excitement of summer preparations. Starting tomorrow, we'll be in Budapest for nearly 2 months. For five weeks of that time, I'll be completely offline, no social media, no newsletters (except if I feel like it). The podcasts will be scheduled nicely, so you don't have to worry about your favorite show going on hiatus.
On July 20th, building upon the successes of last year, we'll have another HAC community picnic behind the "Zöld Küllő" pub at the sunbathing meadow in Városliget.
Bring a blanket/snacks/drinks/kids/kites/dogs/anything and anyone. You can also get drinks and food from nearby catering establishments.
It won't be a serious program, just a little icebreaker game and then casual conversation. It was great last year. Come join us!
Podcast
This week's HAC episode focuses on the creative industry and burnout.
On June 2, 2023, I participated in a lively panel discussion at the "Agencies' Night" at Publicis Groupe's beautiful office on Irányi Street. You can now listen to the live recording on your favorite player.
On the English-language channel, I talk about how to recover from burnout.
Show it to a friend if you find it helpful.
Inspiration
I watched the 3x1-hour documentary/report film about Arnold in one go, and it's so well made. I'm not a fan of Schwarzenegger, but there are many lessons and interesting things in the film.
I can't relate to him at all, yet I'm capable of loving this ambitious, workaholic Austrian goofball who reached the top in three completely different fields.
Now, at the age of 75, he looks back on his adventurous life in this Netflix series, which I highly recommend.
Thank you for your attention. That's all for today, and don't forget:
the autumn group coaching dates are already available on my website. If you sign up before July 5th, you'll receive a 50 EUR discount. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Best regards,
András
